About
Initially I pursued a career as a nurse in the UK, gaining experience in paediatrics before specialising in both the Operating Theatre and Intensive Care. This expertise led me to work with Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) in a district hospital in the Far West of Nepal, followed by a role with a mobile team carrying ophthalmic surgical camps across Nepal. On my return to the UK I taught perioperative care at the Royal Surrey County Hospital and the University of Surrey.

Throughout my nursing career I developed a keen interest in the historical aspects of healthcare and medicine. This passion led me to transition into the heritage sector working at Vancouver Maritime Museum in Canada and the Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth. In 2018, I pursued a Doctor of Philosophy, focusing on the history of health and sickness during the late medieval and early modern period.
